It’s always better to play games with friends, and Genshin Impact is no exception. After completing a few requirements, joining friends’ worlds can be a great way to advance.
Joining a friends’ world in Genshin Impact takes some time. You’ll learn how to do it here, and you’ll do it quickly. We’ll also answer some questions about Genshin Impact.
How to Join Friends’ World in Genshin Impact?
The first thing you’ll need to do is complete a bunch of missions and main quests before you can play with others. There is a delay in unlocking it, so don’t worry. Playing with others will soon be possible.
How to Unlock Multiplayer and Co-Op Game Modes?
Until you reach Adventure Rank 16, you must play alone to unlock Multiplayer and Co-Op modes. Rank 16 can be achieved in several ways, including:
- Clearing the Main Archon Quests in the Prologue.
In order to complete the main quests, you must visit the city of Monstadt first. After clearing three wind temples around the city, you’ll find yourself clearing three more. EXP rewards you for completing main quests, and the more you get, the sooner you can play with others.
- Visit the Adventurer’s Guild in Monstadt.
As soon as you gain access to the Adventurer Handbook, you will be able to start earning EXP. When you start exploring, the Experience tab in the Handbook gives you plenty of Adventure Rank EXP. EXP can be earned by cooking, opening chests, and activating waypoints.
- Explore the Overworld.
You can earn a lot of EXP this way since there is a lot of ground to cover. Your map will be expanded by waypoints, chests, dungeons, and Statues of the Seven. You have a lot of adventures ahead of you, so take your time.
- Daily Missions at Rank 12.
Once you reach Adventure Rank 12, you can start Daily Missions. Completing them and resetting them every day is quite easy. Adventure Rank EXP and a host of other rewards can be gained from them.
You’ll be somewhat decent at Genshin Impact when you start doing all of these. It’s possible that the developers will only allow you to unlock Multiplayer after some time in the game because no one likes weak teammates. After reaching Adventure Rank 16, you can play with others.
How to Play With Friends
You can begin adding friends once you reach Adventure Rank 16. If you don’t have friends, you won’t have anyone to play with. Unless you and your friends are both Adventure Rank 16, you won’t be able to join each other’s worlds.
You can add friends by following these steps:
- Go to the pause menu and select Friends.
- In the Friends menu, click the second tab.
- Your friend gave you a nine-digit UID number.
- Please send the friend request.
- Upon acceptance, you can begin joining their worlds.
- Select Co-Op Mode from the menu to join.
- Make friends with someone you want to play with.
- Please select the Join Request option.
- You can start playing with your friends if you are accepted.
After adding friends, you do this instead to host sessions:
- Co-Op mode can be selected from the menu.
- Select My Multiplayer from the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- You can either allow direct joining or allow joining after approval.
- Be patient and wait for a friend to join you.
Alternatively, you can reject all join requests if you prefer to play alone. In order to focus on main quests, you might want to turn on direct join requests, since anyone can join at any time.
Multiplayer Not Working
If you are unable to join a friend’s world or if they are unable to join yours, there are a few possible reasons. All of these problems can be fixed, but we won’t be able to list them all. Some of the most common ones are listed below:
- One Player Isn’t Adventure Rank 16.
You can’t play with someone who doesn’t have Adventure Rank 16. The rule does not allow for any exceptions, so either of you must start ranking up. It’s not possible to play multiplayer until you’re both Adventure Rank 16.
- Bad Connections.
Bad internet connections can sometimes prevent players from playing Co-Op Mode. Smooth gameplay requires a strong connection from the host. Chances are if you know someone with terrible Internet, they won’t be able to host properly.
Occasionally, the problems aren’t your fault, but the game is making life difficult for you. This blog post describes how a Genshin Impact player had a strange bug that prevented Co-Op play. After a lot of help from the developers, it was fixed.
If something is very wrong, you should contact the developers. Although it might take a while, your efforts can also help others who are experiencing the same problem. Waiting for the fix is worth it.
Multiplayer Restrictions in Genshin Impact
You have a few restrictions when playing Co-Op Mode. During Co-Op Mode, you won’t be able to participate in Archon Quests or Story Quests. Currently playing one of these or a quest that manipulates the world forces you to play alone.
You’ll have to wait a while before Co-Op becomes available again after completing the quest. You can speed up the process by logging out and back in again. Once this is done, you should be able to play with your friends again.
Even if you’re playing one of the above quest types, you must reactivate any activity that requires entering Co-Op Mode.
Join players whose World Levels and Adventure Rank ranges are lower or equal to yours.
With one friend, you can swap between two characters in Co-Op Mode. For three players, the host gets two characters to switch between, while the others get one. Each member of a full party is stuck with the same character.
Using the Party Setup menu, you can change your deployed characters out of combat at any time. You can adapt to new missions on the fly this way.
Through scaling, the number of players in your party directly affects enemy numbers and variations. You will have to fight harder battles.
How to Check Your Adventure Rank?
Your Adventure Rank can be found alongside your World Level, character’s name, and birthday. As you rank up, it won’t change like the other two stats.
How to Quickly Level Up Your Adventure Rank?
You can level up your Adventure Rank by doing the following:
- Commissions on a daily basis
- Bosses on farms
- Domains that are clear
- Experience with the Adventurer’s Handbook
- Quests must be completed
- Map exploration
Does Genshin Impact Support Console Crossplay?
Genshin Impact is fully cross-platform. Various platforms can play together, including consoles and PCs, thanks to the good crossplay. Mobile gamers can join your party and start farming bosses.
Genshin Impact is currently available on the following platforms:
- The PlayStation 4
- The PlayStation 5
Worlds can be hosted and joined freely on these platforms. If the multiplayer requirements are met, playing with others shouldn’t be a problem.
However, there is one problem. Despite being cross-platform, the game does not support cross-saving. PC and mobile gamers can access their accounts on each other’s devices, but PS4 and PS5 players cannot. Until further notice, their PlayStation accounts remain locked.
Cross-platform games have been a bit of a challenge for Sony. Although Sony and miHoYo, Genshin Impact’s developers, have negotiated cross-platform play, cross-saving has yet to be implemented on Sony’s consoles.
There is a possibility that all platforms, including PS4 and PS5, will be able to be transferred between each other in the future.
MiHoYo also announced that a Nintendo Switch version is in development. There are rumors that Switch has inferior hardware, although it was announced in January 2020.
The delay of Genshin Impact for Switch has also been attributed to “microtransaction implementations” and other issues. If a “Switch Pro” ever comes out, some believe Genshin Impact will only be available on that console.
However, Genshin Impact will likely be cross-platform on the Switch.
In Genshin Impact, joining a friends’ world has some restrictions. You can start hunting bosses together as soon as you pass all requirements. With more players in a party, the game becomes harder, but there is always strength in numbers.
